A special meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2005 at the Heartland School Theater in Henderson, Nebraska.

            Notice of this meeting was published in the September 22 issue of the Henderson News and posted at the Post Office, City Hall, Henderson State Bank, Cornerstone Bank, Gracie’s, Ann’s Tea Room and placed on our local television station. 

            Mayor Lucas Epp called the meeting to order at 8:30 p.m. Roll call showed the following present: Mayor: Lucas Epp. Council members: Deb Friesen, Matt Friesen, Jim Mestl and Scott Erb. Also present was the city clerk and engineers.

            Mayor Lucas Epp opened the public hearing and stated the purpose for the hearing was to discuss the current water issues the City of Henderson is dealing with and also water meters.

            There were 50 citizens in attendance for the hearing. The engineers did a power point presentation explaining the process that has been done to get to the point the council is at today. Also presented was the location of the potential new wells. Water meters were discussed.

            There was a period of question and answers for the citizens. Several questions were asked of the engineers. At 10:10 p.m., Mayor Lucas Epp declared the public hearing closed as no other questions were asked.

            Matt Friesen made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Deb Friesen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - all. Motion carried.
