A special meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska.
Notice of this meeting was posted at the City Hall, Cornerstone Bank and U.S. Post Office.
Mayor Lucas Epp called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Present were: Mayor Lucas Epp. Council members: Matt Friesen, Deb Friesen, Jim Mestl and Scott Erb. Also present was the city clerk, Mel Friesen and Olsson and Associate representatives.
Olsson and Associates representatives Tory Kort and Kevin Prior were present for discussion of the urgency of the lagoon situation. The lagoon is nearing capacity and will need to be either released into the draw or into the north cell. The north cell is currently not to specifications and needs to be reworked to hold liquid. It was decided to notify the DEQ for an emergency release into the draw and as soon as Olsson and Associates has the soil test results to start working on a plan to get the north cell worked to meet specifications for holding liquids. A flow meter will be inserted into the S Lift Station to gather data to verify the amount of surface area needed for the north cell.
Results of the 13 parameter tests of the domestic wells were discussed along with the well logs. It was decided to case the test well at the southwest location and run a 13 parameter test on it to determine quality and quantity of the well for municipal use. Talk to other land owners if results are favorable.
Matt Friesen made a motion to adjourn. Deb Friesen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Scott Erb, Deb Friesen, Jim Mestl and Matt Friesen. Motion carried.
