A special meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2009 at City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska.

             Notice of this meeting was posted at the City Hall, Cornerstone Bank and Post Office.       Mayor Ken Bergen called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. Mayor Bergen declared the meeting to be legal and properly advertised with all members having been informed of the nature of the meeting and having received related information. Mayor Bergen also referred to the open meetings law poster at the back of the council chambers.

             The purpose of the special meeting was to refinance outstanding callable bonds.

             Jim Mestl made a motion to adopt resolution #2009-05, a resolution calling for redemption of outstanding general obligation various purpose bonds dated April 18, 2001 in the amount of $120,000 and dated June 30, 2004 in the amount of $640,000. Matt Friesen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes: Jim Mestl, Matt Friesen, Scott Erb and Deb Friesen. Motion carried.

             Deb Friesen made a motion to adopt Ordinance #368, an ordinance authorizing the issuance of general obligation refunding bonds, series 2009 of the City of Henderson, Nebraska, in the principal amount of seven hundred seventy-five thousand dollars ($775,000) to refund outstanding (a) general obligation various purpose bonds, series 2001, dated April 15, 2001, of the City of Henderson, Nebraska, in the principal amount of one hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000), and (b) various purpose bonds, series 2004, dated June 30, 2004, of the City of Henderson, Nebraska, in the principal amount of six hundred forty thousand dollars ($640,000); prescribing the terms and form of such bonds; providing for the levy of taxes to pay the interest on and principal of such bonds. Scott Erb seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Deb Friesen, Scott Erb, Matt Friesen and Jim Mestl.

             Scott Erb made a motion to adopt Resolution 2009-06, a resolution providing for the calling for redemption of outstanding general obligation building bonds, series 2002, dated April 25, 2002, of the City of Henderson, Nebraska, in the principal amount of seven hundred forty-five thousand dollars ($745,000). Matt Friesen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Scott Erb, Matt Friesen, Deb Friesen and Jim Mestl. Motion carried.

             Deb Friesen made a motion to adopt Ordinance #369, an ordinance authorizing the issuance of general obligation swimming pool refunding bonds, series 2009 of the City of Henderson, Nebraska, in the principal amount of seven hundred sixty thousand dollars ($760,000) to refund outstanding general obligation building bonds, series 2002, dated April 25, 2002, of the City of Henderson, Nebraska, in the principal amount of seven hundred forty-five thousand dollars ($745,000); prescribing the terms and form of such bonds; providing for the levy of taxes to pay the interest on and principal of such bonds. Jim Mestl seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Deb Friesen, Jim Mestl, Matt Friesen and Scott Erb. Motion carried.
