The regular meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska.

Notice of this meeting was posted at the City Hall and Henderson Post Office and published in the June 7, 2007 Henderson News.

Mayor Lucas Epp called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Lucas Epp. Council members: Matt Friesen, Jim Mestl, Deb Friesen and Scott Erb. Also present were the city clerk, city employees and chief of police and representatives from Smith Hayes, Olsson & Associates and Maguire Iron.

Minutes from the May 8 meeting were presented. Scott Erb made a motion to approve the minutes with changes. Jim Mestl seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Matt Friesen, Jim Mestl, Deb Friesen and Scott Erb Motion carried.

Claims were presented. Jim Mestl made a motion to approve the claims as presented. Deb Friesen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Matt Friesen, Jim Mestl and Deb Friesen. Abstain: Scott Erb Motion carried.

Two building permit was submitted.

Blaine Spady of Smith Hayes was present to review and discuss the ordinance for the bonding amount and period needed for the new well and water main construction. After discussion, Deb Friesen made a motion to adopt Ordinance #360, an ordinance authorizing the issuance of general obligation water bonds of the city of Henderson in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $2,350,000 for improvements to the water system and to suspend the three readings on three different days. Scott Erb seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Matt Friesen, Jim Mestl, Deb Friesen and Scott Erb Motion carried.

After discussion of the current paint on the water tower and different options, Matt Friesen made a motion to accept the Bid Section #4, water tower painting, from Maquire Iron in the amount of $279,000. Scott Erb seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Matt Friesen, Jim Mestl, Deb Friesen and Scott Erb Motion carried. This will be sandblasting all paint of inside and outside and repainting.

Street plans were reviewed for the reconstruction of West Front Street. No formal action taken.
