A special meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008 at City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska.
Notice of this meeting was posted at the City Hall, Post Office and Cornerstone Bank.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the bid for the dirt work for the new ballfield.
Acting Mayor Matt Friesen called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. Roll call showed the following present: Acting Mayor: Matt Friesen. Council members: Scott Erb, Jim Mestl and Deb Friesen Absent: Lucas Epp. Also present were the city clerk, city employees and the recreation department members.
Bids were reviewed from two different sources for land leveling. Mid Nebraska Land Developers were low bid in the amount of $45,600.
Scott Erb made a motion to accept the bid from Mid Nebraska Land Developers, to purchase the fencing and sprinkler materials for the ballfields. Deb Friesen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Scott Erb, Deb Friesen, Matt Friesn and Jim Mestl. Motion carried.
It was discussed the city would commit $20,000 per year for up to four years, if needed. The cost of the project is $233,000 with the remainder of the project being paid for by grants, donations and fund raisers.
Jim Mestl made a motion to adjourn. Scott Erb seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Jim Mestl, Scott Erb, Deb Friesen and Matt Friesen. Motion carried.
