A special meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska.
Notice of this meeting was posted at the City Hall and Post Office and published in the January 20, 2011 Henderson News. Mayor Ken Bergen called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Mayor Bergen declared the meeting to be legal and properly advertised with all members having been informed of the nature of the meeting and having received related information. Mayor Bergen also referred to the open meetings law poster at the back of the council chambers.
Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Ken Bergen. Council members: Mike Wall, Lee Thiessen, Scott Erb, and Jim Mestl. Also present were Jay Kroeker, Paul Kroeker and Dr. Jim Ohrt.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss land easements to a well owned by the Doris Kroeker family on property that Dr. Jim Ohrt is proposing to purchase and gift to the city of Henderson. Discussion was had with no formal action taken. After further investigation on some questions raised, another meeting will be planned.
Jim Mestl made a motion to formally accept Resolution 2011-02 for the gifting of 6.6 acres of land to the city of Henderson by Dr. Jim and Nora Ohrt. Mike Wall seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Jim Mestl, Mike Wall, Scott Erb and Lee Thiessen. Motion carried. The city will form a group of members to create ideas what this ground would be best suited for. No immediate plans are had.
Lee Thiessen made a motion to adjourn at 6:15 p.m.. Jim Mestl seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Lee Thiessen, Jim Mestl, Mike Wall and Scott Erb. Motion carried.
