A special meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2005 at the City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska.
Notice of this meeting was posted at the City Hall, Henderson State Bank and U.S. Post Office and published in the January 17, 2005 Henderson News.
Mayor Lucas Epp called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. Present were Mayor Lucas Epp, Councilmembers: Scott Erb (until 6:15), Deb Friesen, Matt Friesen and Jim Mestl. Also present were the clerk, police chief Milan Mierau, Utility Superintendent Mel Friesen and the Case representative Carolyn Busboom.
The reason for the special meeting was to discuss different options concerning the payloader. The clerk stated that the quote to fix our 1980 Case payloader is between $15,000 to $25,000.
Several options were discussed. The clerk presented several quotes on new and used machines from four different manufacturers as requested.
After discussing the options, Matt Friesen made a motion to have Utility Superintendent Mel Friesen and Cecil Huebert of Huebert Land Leveling to go look at the used Cases from Mid-land Equipment in Omaha and two used ones from Nebraska Machinery and to continue to investigate others as dealers get some in. Jim Mestl seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Matt Friesen, Deb Friesen and Jim Mestl. Absent: Scott Erb. Motion carried.
Next meeting will be February 2nd at 5:30 p.m. at the City Hall.
