The regular meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 7:00 p.m. on February 14, 2017 at City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska. Notice of this meeting was posted at the City Hall, Post Office and published in the January 5, 2017 Henderson News.
Mayor Mike Yoder called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Yoder declared the meeting to be legal and properly advertised with all members having been informed of the nature of the meeting and having received related information. Mayor Yoder also referred to the open meetings law poster at the back of the council chambers.
Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Mike Yoder. Council members: Corbin Tessman, Jeb Mierau, Lee Thiessen and Mike Wall.
Minutes from the January 10, 2017 meeting were reviewed. Mike Wall made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Lee Thiessen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Mike Wall, Lee Thiessen, Jeb Mierau and Corbin Tessman. Motion carried.
Claims were reviewed. Jeb Mierau made a motion to approve the claims as presented. Mike Wall seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Jeb Mierau, Mike Wall, Lee Thiessen and Corbin Tessman. Motion carried.
Two building permits were submitted for Lynn Gloystein remodeling and Andrew Nunnenkamp demolition.
No other committee members were present.
The 12th Street and 15th Street bids were discussed. Bids submitted were TCW Construction ($406,727), ME Collins Contracting ($399,005) and Diamond Engineering ($357,255.48). Reed Miller from Miller and Associates requested the council wait until the March 14, 2017 meeting to accept a bid to allow time for the engineers to check references of the contractors. No formal action taken.
Corbin Tessman made a motion to approve Randy Hiebner (Tri County Automotive) for the $5,000 USDA Revolving Loan. Lee Thiessen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes Corbin Tessman, Lee Thiessen, Mike Wall and Jeb Mierau. Motion carried.
Jeb Mierau made a motion to approve alley work between Cedar Street and Birch Street and 15th Street and 16th Street in the amount of $2,682 from Huebert Land Leveling. Corbin Tessman seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Jeb Mierau, Corbin Tessman, Mike Wall and Lee Thiessen. Motion carried.
Jeb Mierau made a motion to keep Cobalt TV subscription as follows: Police Station with Essential Package ($72.20), City Hall and Fire Barn with Element Packages ($34.70). Mike Wall seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Jeb Mierau, Mike Wall, and Corbin Tessman. Nays - Lee Thiessen. Motion carried.
Corbin Tessman made a motion to adjourn. Jeb Mierau seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Corbin Tessman, Jeb Mierau, Lee Thiessen and Mike Wall. Motion carried.
