The regular meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska. Notice of this meeting was posted at the City Hall, Post Office and Mainstay Communications.
Mayor Ken Bergen called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Bergen declared the meeting to be legal and properly advertised with all members having been informed of the nature of the meeting and having received related information. Mayor Bergen also referred to the open meetings law poster at the back of the council chambers.
Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Ken Bergen. Council members: Mike Wall, Lee Thiessen, Scott Erb and Jim Mestl. Others present: Milan Mierau, Rob Mierau and Jeb Mierau.
Minutes from the January 14, 2014 meeting were reviewed. Jim Mestl made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Lee Thiessen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Jim Mestl, Lee Thiessen, Mike Wall and Scott Erb. Motion carried.
Claims were reviewed. Scott Erb made a motion to approve the claims as presented. Jim Mestl seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Scott Erb, Jim Mestl, Mike Wall and Lee Thiessen. Motion carried.
At 7:30 p.m., Mayor Ken Bergen opened the public hearing for the 1 & 6 year street program.
Source Gas is working on getting the gas line easement needed for the 18th Street gas line project. No formal action taken.
Rob Mierau from Ayars & Ayars was present to show the council the plan for the Main Street renovation project. No formal action was taken.
As no public was present, Mayor Bergen closed the public hearing at 8:20 p.m.,
After discussion, Jim Mestl made a motion to adopt Resolution #2014-01, a resolution to accept the 1&6 year street plan as presented by Kirkham Michael. Mike Wall seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Jim Mestl, Mike Wall, Scott Erb and Lee Thiessen. Motion carried.
Reports were given. No formal action taken.
