A special meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska.
Notice of this meeting was posted at the City Hall, Henderson State Bank and U.S. Post Office.
Acting Mayor Matt Friesen called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Present were Councilmembers: Scott Erb , Deb Friesen, Matt Friesen and Jim Mestl. Absent: Lucas Epp Also present were the clerk, police chief Milan Mierau, Utility Superintendent Mel Friesen, Cecil Huebert and the Case representative Carolyn Busboom and Caterpillar representative Tom Forstrom.
The reason for the special meeting was to discuss the payloader.
Utility Superintendent Mel Friesen and Cecil Huebert from Huebert Land Leveling went to view new and used payloaders. Cecil Huebert presented facts from his experience with heavy equipment and the expense of repairing used equipment beyond a certain age. Mel Friesen presented to the council the equipment he and Cecil Huebert looked at.
The council considered both new and used options. With the municipal discount and use of the state bid benefit for a total of $30,048 off of a new machine and the consideration of repair expense and modifications to a used machine to fit our attachments, Deb Friesen made a motion to purchase the 2005 Case 621D for $91,892 from Mid-Land Equipment using the state bid benefit. Matt Friesen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - all. Motion carried.
Scott Erb made a motion to adjourn. Jim Mestl seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - all. Motion carried.
