An emergency meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska. Notice of this meeting was posted at the City Hall, Post Office and Mainstay Communications on August 26, 2015.
Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Jim Mestl. Council members: Mike Wall, Corbin Tessman, Jeb Mierau and Lee Thiessen (phone conference). Also present was Kevin Carter from Ayars and Ayars and city employees.
The purpose of the emergency meeting was to inform the council of the scheduling change made after a meeting with the owner of M.E. Collins and the project manager Ayars & Ayars on the morning of August 26. This schedule change will shut down Cedar Street and N Main Street at the same time for approximately three weeks. The council and project managers will meet with the business owners north of Cedar Street on August 28 at 9:00 a.m. to inform businesses on traffic flow and scheduling of removal of street. Saw cutting on Main Street will begin Tuesday morning and the street will be closed on Wednesday morning to begin removal. This is needed to continue site dirt work so the concrete crew will be able to follow as soon as possible to help meet the schedule deadline. A second concrete crew from M.E. Collins will also be moving in to assist with the project.
No formal action was taken.
Corbin Tessman made a motion to adjourn. Mike Wall seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Corbin Tessman, Mike Wall and Lee Thiessen. Abstain - Jeb Mierau. Motion carried.
