The regular meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at the City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska.

             Notice of this meeting was posted at the City Hall and Henderson Post Office and published in the August 9, 2007 Henderson News.

             Mayor Lucas Epp called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Lucas Epp. Council members: Matt Friesen, Jim Mestl, Deb Friesen and Scott Erb. Also present were the city clerk and city employees.

             Mayor Lucas Epp opened the public hearing at 7:30 p.m. and it will remain open until September 12 meeting for comments concerning the street improvement district.

             Minutes from the July 10 and July 23 meetings were presented. Matt Friesen made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Jim Mestl seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - all. Motion carried.

             Claims were presented. Deb Friesen made a motion to approve the claims as presented. Matt Friesen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - Matt Friesen, Jim Mestl and Deb Friesen. Abstain - Scott Erb. Motion carried.

             One building permit was submitted.

             Nathan from Sargent Drilling was present to discuss the well progress and concerns with the engineers on the project. No formal action taken.

             Matt Friesen made a motion to pay the contractors the pay estimates submitted from Simmermans for $9,702.45 and VanKirks for $108,893.52. Jim Mestl seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - all. Motion carried.

             The test well at the corner of Road 5 and Road Y was discussed. Scott made a motion to allow the property owner to place a submersible well in the test well with the terms of having a licensed well driller set the well and that in the future the city could use this well as a municipal well if needed. Deb Friesen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - all. Motion carried.

             Reports were given. No formal action.

             Deb Friesen made a motion to adjourn. Matt Friesen seconded. Roll vote: Ayes - all. Motion carried.
