The regular meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Henderson, Nebraska was held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at City Hall in Henderson, Nebraska. Notice of this meeting was published in the April 3, 2014 Henderson News and posted at the City Hall and Post Office.

                Mayor Ken Bergen called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.   Mayor Bergen declared the meeting to be legal and properly advertised with all members having been informed of the nature of the meeting and having received related information.  Mayor Bergen also referred to the open meetings law poster at the back of the council chambers. 

                Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Ken Bergen.  Council members: Mike Wall, Lee Thiessen, Scott Erb and Jim Mestl. Others present: city employees, Rob Mierau and Jeb Mierau.

                Minutes from the March 11, 2014 meeting were reviewed. Mike Wall made a motion to approve the minutes as presented.  Lee Thiessen seconded.  Roll vote: Ayes - Mike Wall, Lee Thiessen, Jim Mestl and Scott Erb. Motion carried.

                Claims were reviewed.  Mike Wall made a motion to approve the claims as presented. Jim Mestl seconded.  Roll vote: Ayes -Mike Wall, Jim Mestl, Scott Erb and Lee Thiessen, Motion carried.

                Five permits were issued.

                Andrew Williams of Kline, Williams was present to discuss process of City Council acting as the CDA for Providence Subdivision TIF project.  Discussion was also had on the minimum fair value needed for each lot for the TIF project to be successful. No formal action was taken as this will be reviewed again at the April 29 special meeting.

                The discussion of changing the tap fee for water and sewer taps into a main was discussed.  Discussion was to increase a new water tap from main that city employees do the work to $1,500.  A new sewer tap from the main that the city employees do the work to $750.  Also to increase existing water and sewer taps with work being provided by others to $500 each.  This will be acted on next month.

                Macguire Iron bid to power wash the water tower was reviewed.  It was decided to wait and budget for the power washing and review this fall.

                Reports were given.  No formal action taken.
